Louisa Alice-Rose is a highly versatile soprano and actress. She has been performing on the professional stage since her West End debut at aged 8 in Les Miserables at The Palace Theatre. At aged 9, Louisa played the role of Tilly in the World Première performance of The Bear by Howard Blake at The Barbican Centre and Birmingham Symphony Hall. 

Louisa studied with vocal coach Elizabeth Harley from the age of 6. She trained at Sylvia Young Theatre School, Tring Park School for the Performing Arts, Glyndebourne Youth Opera and the Royal Northern College of Music, graduating with First Class Honours in Vocal Studies and Opera. Whilst at the RNCM, Louisa was awarded the Freckleton Prize and Doherty Cup for the highest recital mark in her year group. 

Louisa was a member of Capital Arts Children's Choir (Kathleen Shanks) from the age of 9 to 16. With the choir, Louisa performed recitals at Chequers for Cherie Blair and on tour in France at Chartres Cathedral and Disneyland Paris. Louisa also performed at The 02 Arena with 'SPIRIT' for the Voice in a Million Concert and was a soloist for Paul Potts' The Glory Of Christmas concert at The Royal Albert Hall in 2010.

Also with Capital Arts, Louisa was part of the children's chorus for a number of Raymond Gubbay operas at The Royal Albert Hall -  Carmen, Tosca and La Bohème and for Joseph and his Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat at the New London Theatre, performing alongside Darren Day and Stephen Gately.

In 2009, Louisa was featured in the National Geographic Magazine as a photographic model for an article about The Duchy of Cornwall.

At age 17, Louisa was runner-up in both the Next BRIT Thing competition (sponsored by Classic FM) and the Rotary Club of Great Britain and Ireland Young Musician of the Year. Louisa was nominated for a Classic BRIT Award in 2018 and in 2019 Louisa was one of the final 6 singers (and the only singer representing England) at the Llangollen Eisteddfod Pendine International Voice of the Future.  

Louisa is a keen performer of Gilbert & Sullivan; recent roles include Phyllis (Iolanthe) for White Knight, Yum Yum (The Mikado) for Opera South East, Constance (The Sorcerer) and Leila (Iolanthe) for Grim’s Dyke Opera, Phoebe (The Yeomen of the Guard) for Kentish Opera, Kate / Isabel (The Pirates of Penzance) for Celebrate Voice, Kentish Opera, Opera Anywhere and Grim’s Dyke Opera.

Louisa’s operatic / theatre roles include Zerlina (Don Giovanni), Berta (Il barbiere di Siviglia) and Fanny Dashwood (Sense and Sensibility UK Première) with Surrey Opera, Sara (Tobias and the Angel, Jonathan Dove), Mimì (La Bohème) excerpts with London Cantamusica, Emma Jones (Street Scene, Kurt Weill) and Jou-Jou (The Merry Widow) with RNCM Opera, Mignon (Mignon, Thomas) and Dorabella (Così fan tutte) for RNCM Excerpts.

Other career highlights include solo recitals at Hampton Court Palace and Windsor Castle and solo performances at the Royal Albert Hall, Cardiff Millennium Centre and Bournemouth International Centre. Louisa was also part of the Ensemble for the Les Miserables 25th Anniversary Concert at the 02 Arena.

Louisa recently collaborated with composer Lyndon Samuel to record and release three new songs, 'You Are Not Alone,' 'The Cold of Winter' and 'Ave Maria'. The first two were top of the iTunes Classical Charts (Nov 2020 and Feb 2021) and Ave Maria was Number 3 (Dec 2020).

Following this success, Louisa was interviewed by BBC 3 Counties Radio and BBC Radio 5 Live and is featured in Hertfordshire Life Magazine (January 2021) and Opera Wire

Other recordings include Louisa’s debut album Summer Rose (released April 2020), Soul of a Child (released December 2019) and Little Prayers of Love (recorded when Louisa was just 9 years old).

As a soprano soloist on the concert platform, recent performances include Bach's Magnificat, St Matthew Passion and Christmas Oratorio, Purcell's Come Ye Sons Of Art, Faure's Requiem, Haydn's Creation, Vivaldi's Gloria, Mozart's Mass in C Minor and Solemn Vespers, Bizet’s Te Deum, Schubert’s Mass in A Flat, Handel's Messiah and Anthem For The Foundling Hospital and Rutter's Requiem and Magnificat.

Louisa is the Founder & Principal of LAR Performing Arts, with over 200 children attending weekly classes in singing, drama and dance; a number of them are currently performing in London’s West End, on UK Tour and for Garsington Opera.
